Kids Camp
SuperCamp's kids camp programs include our Youth Forum youth camps for boys and girls going into grades 4 and 5 in the fall and our Junior Forum kids summer camp for students entering grades 6 to 8. Both kids camp programs are geared to what's relevant to students at their particular level in school. In both programs, the campers enjoy a fun, dynamic and engaging time. There’s no question that SuperCamp helps make it a fun summer for kids.Youth Camps
Youth Forum is a great kids camp for boys and girls going into 4th and 5th grade in the fall. Campers have fun learning with other kids during games, with music and through other activities. Frequent team activities, such as ropes course games, teach participants how to use teamwork and trust in each other. Throughout our seven-day kids camp, the team leaders do a great job in helping each camper feel safe and feel good about themselves, while building their confidence on a daily basis with several mini-success moments. Plus, there's free time for activities and sports or to just relax and listen to music. In our kids camp programs, we believe it’s not too early to build a framework for success for children who are 9 or 10 years old. That’s why, at Youth Forum, we introduce values we call the Seven Rings of Success. In the same spirit as our Eight Keys of Excellence, the Seven Rings of Excellence give the campers guidance in such areas as being themselves, friendship, going for it, taking responsibility, how failure leads to success, giving and the importance of family.
Also at our Youth Forum kids camp, campers are introduced to an important communication tool that has nothing to do with talking. It’s called Active Listening. Campers learn how Active Listening will improve any relationship by building mutual understanding and trust. As SuperCamp president, Bobbi DePorter, says in her book, Quantum Success, "Communication is important: it’s the universal relationship fuel. Communication grows relationships; relationships grow success."
Kids Summer Camp
At SuperCamp's Junior Forum kids camp, students entering grades 6 to 8 discover their individual learning styles and develop skills for dealing with a heavier academic schedule. One example is skills for easier note-taking, which helps make studying easier, faster and even more enjoyable. We give students a system that is more natural, in that it resembles how the brain stores and processes information.Throughout this kids camp program for 6th- through 8th-graders, campers also are exposed to life skills that will help them, not only in middle school or junior high, but also as they move forward into high school and beyond. For example, they are encouraged and empowered to take the risk of moving out of their Comfort Zones and, in doing so, experiencing something new, learning, and growing. During the 10-day kids camp, they also learn about Living Above the Line, which is about taking responsibility for one’s own actions. This foundation for communication and personal interaction is one of SuperCamp’s Eight Keys of Excellence: Ownership. Those people who choose to live above the line have greater control, and therefore, greater success, because they take ownership for their current situation. They also take ownership of their education, of their relationships, and of their attitudes, affecting all areas of their lives.
