Pre-College Summer Camps
SuperCamp provides two types of pre-college summer camps, one for students entering grades 9-12 in the fall and one for students entering college in the fall.
High School Pre-College Program
Our pre-college summer programs for high school students are called Senior Forum. These 10-day programs are held across the U.S. each summer at such colleges as Stanford, Brown and UCLA.
These high school pre-college programs arm students with a range of powerful new learning skills that apply to all subject areas and help them with everything from SAT and ACT testing to writing college entrance exams. In addition, half our pre-college summer camp curriculum is focused on life skills that help prepare students for college with stronger communication, leadership and other interpersonal skills.
The impact of our pre-college summer programs is seen in studies conducted with SuperCamp graduates. A major research study undertaken with over 6,000 of our graduates showed gains in grades, self-esteem, confidence and motivation among the majority of students.

Another study with grads of our Senior Forum pre-college summer camps who have graduated high school reports the following: 77% went from high school directly into a four-year college (national average is 46%, as reported by the U.S. Department of Education); 88% went from high school directly into either a four-year or two-year college (national average is 65%); 41% received some scholarship money and 57% of the scholarship recipients received over $10,000.
Pre-College Summer Program for Incoming College Students
Quantum U is our pre-college summer program for incoming college students, current college students and students transferring from a junior college into a four-year school. This eight-day program held at UCLA in Los Angeles, is an ideal pre-college summer camp program to help incoming college students with the transition from high school or junior college.
Our Quantum U pre-college summer camp program covers the basics of college life for college-bound students. We sharpen students' skills in several key academic areas that are critical to college success. We also address each of these areas in the context of real-life college situations and expectations. Key academic skills for college preparation taught at Quantum U include:
- Effective,compelling, and creative writing
- Improved reading speed and comprehension
- Efficient study habits, including memorization techniques
- Preparing and making written and oral presentations
- Working and communicating effectively in team environments
- Developing interactive leadership skills
Second, instructors at our pre-college summer programs for discuss real-world life skills that often overwhelm students who don't have this level of college preparation. Failure to manage any of these skills effectively becomes, at the very least, a major distraction for college students and, at worst, a reason for dropping out of college altogether. Our college preparation life skills instruction includes:
- Time management
- Life management
- Decision-making for handling college challenges
- Responsibility for personal finances
- Taking ownership for choices and actions
- Short-and long-term goal setting
- Critical thinking and problem solving
SuperCamp's 2012 Pre-College Summer Camps Line-up
Senior Forum Pre-College summer camps are being held at seven colleges. A total of 15 pre-college summer camp sessions are scheduled between June 29 and August 15.
There is only one Quantum U pre-college summer program. It is scheduled for July 23-30 at UCLA.

Kathy, SuperCamp grad parent
"I am a huge fan of SuperCamp. My son Mark went for 4 years. It had a huge impact on his life. SuperCamp helped him understand himself as a learner. It also helped him see himself as successful and a leader. He just finished his first year of college and had his best grades ever. This kid, who struggled with organization, now effectively juggles school, work and several extracurricular activities."
