Job Description
Before Camp
Training
Attend staff training for four days: Dates TBD (Oceanside, CA; paid for by QLN).
Conference
Participate in training conference calls (3-4 throughout April-June).
Culture
Participate in Site Facebook group to build the foundation of culture and community of camp.
Set-Up
Arrive 7 days prior to the start of camp to set up site and prepare staff for camp
Staff Training
Preparation
Support in setting up site upon arrival, including materials, office space, meeting space, and staff rooms.
Accountability
Hold staff accountable to all policies and procedures in the SuperCamp contract.
Closure and Realignment
In between camps lead Staff Closure and Staff Realignment trainings.
Lead Training
Lead a 4 day intensive staff training.
Camp Flow
Coordinate the logistics of getting camp flow and logistics prepared prior to camper arrival.
During Camp
Model
Model the highest expectation of staff behavior and attitude at all times.
Site Operation
Respond to emergencies that may arise during camp.
Contact
Remain in contact with SuperCamp Programs Department and QLN with updates/concerns/successes.
On Call
Be on call 24 hours a day (should a need arise).
Manage
Manage camper and staff behavior/incidents alongside the Site Administrator and Site Counselor.
Alignment
Coordinate two daily meetings to align, course correct, and prepare for the daily success of camp.
Instruct
Clarification
Provide context and clarity to staff, campers, and parents about camp culture and curriculum.
Facilitation
Create engaging and dynamic academic course room sessions to facilitate our curriculum.
Model
Engage with students and model the expectation of active participation in all sessions.
Graduation
Lead SuperCamp Graduation Ceremony.
Curriculum
Instruct Quantum Learning and Life Skills curriculum to the large group (up to 150 people) and debrief large and small group discussions.
Activites
Lead purposeful activities and games to energize, mobilize, redirect, or enroll students.
Parent Workshop
Lead an interactive and informative 2-hour Parent Workshop.
Manage
Morale
Hold all staff accountable and keep employee morale high.
Communication
Model safe and healthy communication and behavior for all students and staff.
Coaching
Provide pre/during/post coaching to Facilitators about delivery of curriculum.
Support
Provide resources and encouragement to Team Leaders for effective support of their campers.
Work In Tandem
Work in tandem with other on-site managers (Decision Team) to successfully manage programs.
Goals
Complete and set goals from the Professional Development Rubric for all facilitation staff.
Evaluation
Evaluate staff on job performance at the end of summer on all required evaluation forms.
Feedback
Give and receive coaching and feedback to improve and maintain the quality of the program.
Support
Quality
Work with the entire site team to assure the quality delivery of all curriculum.
Impeccability
Set up and maintain the impeccability of all course rooms and meeting spaces.
Preparation
Prepare all materials needed to create a safe and success driven learning environment.
Assistance
Provide context and assistance to any other role in delivering excellent customer service.
Job Requirements
Qualities
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
QLN
Worked for QLN for a minimum of 2 years.
Communication
Professional in your written and verbal communication.
Presence
Vibrant and engaging front-of-the-room presence.
Integrity
Integrity, honesty, kindness, humility, patience, and a genuine concern for others.
Curriculum
Able to memorize and deliver large amounts of curriculum with accuracy.
Training
Completed FIT, and all subsequent required training.
Recommendation Form
Recommendation Form completed by a previous Lead Facilitator.
Fitness
Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
Guidance
Willing to accept guidance, direction, and supervision from manager & peers.
Judgment
Sound judgment, able to effectively problem solve, and the ability to build rapport through your leadership.
Availability
Training
Able to attend Know It By Heart (KIBH) staff training Wednesday, April 18th – Sunday, April 22nd (Oceanside, CA; paid for by QLN)
Summer Availability
Available during summer for placement (June through August)
Development
Staff training focuses on leadership and life skills development. Through relationship building, clarity of expectations, and team alignment, all Decision Team members (Lead Facilitator, Site Administrator, and Site Counselor) are empowered to model expectations and create SuperCamp direction, inspiration, guidance, and tone.
